CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION PURPOSE OF THIS HANDBOOK
This Handbook has been prepared as a roadmap to provide you with clarity for making the most of your Post career experience through consistent adherence to the University’s policies, performance standards, and expected behaviors. The end result of these collective efforts across Post ultimately results in “Make It Personal” experiences for our students and each other. The Handbook also provides information that describes specific expectations, commitments, and promises that you can count on from Post University beginning with your first day of employment and beyond.
Because we operate in a dynamic, evolving industry, some policies and benefit programs currently in effect may be revised, suspended, or eliminated by the University in response to changing associate needs, student needs or legal requirements. For similar reasons, the University may implement new policies
and benefits from time to time that help further accelerate the Post success story. Any such modifications, unless otherwise specified, will apply to existing as well as future associates.
This Handbook also provides summarized information concerning University benefits. Some University benefit plans are defined in official plan documents. These documents are available for your review by contacting Associate Experience or on ADP Workforce Now . If a question arises about coverages and the extent of plan benefits or if there is conflicting language, the language of the plan document governs over the summarized wording of this Handbook or other benefits summaries provided by Post. Also, the policies set forth in this Handbook are intended to comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws. To the extent applicable laws (e.g., local or state law) require greater benefits, those laws will be followed. Please also keep in mind that the University reserves the right to make exceptions to certain information contained in this Handbook based on the circumstances involved, while being mindful of legal requirements. In addition, because Post University associates work across many different states with state specific regulations, a supplemental appendix based on your residence state may apply to you. Please check the ADP Workforce Now for any state-specific appendices that may apply to you or contact Associate Experience for more information.
We encourage you to offer any suggestions or ideas that would help Post best fulfill its mission of being a world class leader in sustaining a culture of happy and proud associates, serving happy and proud students. We are always looking for ways to improve all aspects of our students’ learning experiences and associates’ well-being.
Keep in mind that this Handbook serves multiple purposes to include providing a basic framework for how associates should behave. By the same token, its content has been uniquely written to foster an environment of flexibility to address individual circumstances using caring, responsible judgment and problem solving. This approach is a critical part of how we “Make it Personal” for our associates.
This Handbook is not intended to cover all topics or circumstances. For this reason, the Post culture encourages and supports an environment of open, uninhibited, collaborative, and mutually respectful dialogue between team members regardless of job title. All policies and expectations referenced in this Handbook are equally important and therefore corrective measures when violations occur may include associate termination.
The Associate Experience team provides 24-hour convenient online access to other helpful resource materials including Associate Experience policies, forms, and benefits information, through The Nest and the ADP Workforce Now .
Nothing in this Handbook or in any other Post University document is intended or should be construed to create an express or implied contract of employment, an agreement for employment for any specified period of time, or a guarantee of benefits or working conditions between any associate and the University. Further, any other past or present policy, representation, procedure
or practice (whether written or oral) or the offer or acceptance of employment is not to be construed as a contract of employment, or a promise by the University of continued employment or a guarantee of working conditions, unless specifically identified in a written and approved employment agreement that has been executed by the associate and the Chief Executive Officer and President.
All previous editions of this Handbook are superseded and replaced by this version. This Handbook may not be amended without the written approval of the Chief Executive Officer and President.
NOTE: Refer to ADP Workforce Now for 24-hour, convenient online access to detailed versions
