  CHAPTER 6: ASSOCIATE BENEFITS
requested, guaranteed issue does not apply when enrolling after initial eligibility. Because sensitive health information is required to enroll, it is the associate’s responsibility to submit the EOI form to the carrier directly.
SHORT-TERM (COMPANY PROVIDED & VOLUNTARY SUPPLEMENTAL) AND LONG-TERM DISABILITY
Post University recognizes the financial hardships that may occur when the associate is unable to work for an extended period of time due to non-work related illness, injury or medical condition. Therefore, the University provides short-term and long-term disability insurance coverage to regular full-time associates through both cost sharing and voluntary insurance options. These benefits provide personal income protection and are particularly important since nationally, nearly 75 percent of disabling injuries to workers occur off the job. In general, coverage for eligible associates begins on the first day of the month following date of hire.
Associates approved for short-term disability benefits are required to use available accrued sick time or PTO during the seven calendar day wait period before these payments begin. Thereafter, associates are required to use any available PTO in excess of 40 hours in the event their short-term disability coverage is capped at the 60% of base pay level. Eligibility for paid holidays does not apply during leaves of absence.
ASSOCIATE ASSISTANCE AND WELLNESS PROGRAM
The University provides a fully paid Employee/Associate Assistance Program (EAP) to you and your immediate family – everyday help for everyday living. It is a confidential counseling and referral program that
is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The program offers a convenient network of professional counselors who are available online or in person based on one’s residence or the preferred service location. The program provides professional help on a variety
of topics including how to cope with challenging life circumstances, difficult situations such as mental wellness, work/life balance, substance abuse, parenting challenges, personal development, credit restoration, grief counseling, elder care, or coping with others’ differences.
EAP services are provided through nationally recognized ComPsych at toll free 1-833-515-0772 or guidanceresources.com. Added good news is that under this benefit, you and all members of your household
can take advantage of up to six free professional and confidential counseling sessions per issue each calendar year. In addition, eligibility to use this benefit continues for ninety days after separation.
