For over three decades, OLRFMS has built a tremendous network of
support which includes hundreds of youth who have visited the girls at
the Home during mission trips. In 2007, that is how my journey with OLR
started via St. George’s Episcopal Church. However, as many of these
youth get older, college courses, summer internships, and budding careers
get in the way of staying in touch with OLR. I have witnessed many passionate
individuals wanting to continue their involvement with the ministry but feeling
crippled by the demands of young professional life.
Planning for the next three decades of growth for OLRFMS calls for a community of youthful contributors
to provide sustainability and ensure a lasting legacy. To address this challenge, the OLRFMS Young
Professionals was born. Our mission is to connect young adults from across the country who have a
shared passion for OLRM and build a lasting commitment through OLRFMS.
In the past year, we have recruited over 20 young professional supporters to our team. All members meet
quarterly via teleconference, and committee members meet more frequently. Stay tuned for several
virtual fundraisers that we have planned for later this year. When international travel again is permitted,
we plan to travel together to the Home for an exclusive Young Professionals mission trip!
