When will it stop raining, do we think? As a new freelancer still buzzing

from the freedom of not having to go to the office, I want to use the
opportunity to flaneur around the city, and I’m curious to try A City Full of
Stories, a 25-minute ‘immersive’ (is it? or is it just in your ears?) audio

experience created by the Academy of St-Martin-in-the-Fields with people
experiencing homelessness, which “brings to life the imagined stories of the

buildings and pathways that surround us”.

London seems to be experiencing an epidemic of homelessness post-
pandemic, but ASMF has been working with homeless people, providing
music and resources, for 25 years. You just have to pick up a leaflet at the

church (it’s at the end of Charing Cross Road, just before it hits Trafalgar
Square) and scan the QR code.

It’s free, but a donation is encouraged if you’re able. It strikes me as the kind
of thing that lots of people won’t even know about but could be actually quite
rewarding, and doesn’t take up much of your afternoon. It’s available until

               October 15.

I’m also dead excited about the opening next month of Bold Tendencies, in
the rooftop spaces of the multi-storey carpark in Peckham (May 17 to

September 14). I've been attending their summer programme of art, music
and dance for years now and it just gets better and better, as well as being
one hell of a place to experience art.

The enthusiasm and feeling of communion (incidentally the name of the
2024 season) within the Bold Tendencies audiences is really unique. This is

not a place where you’ll be shushed for clapping between movements.
