Today's highlights

PARLIAMENT: The special session starts on Monday at the National. It will

keep MPs busy until Wednesday. The People's Chamber will consider the
controversial issue of Swiss participation in the G7 international group

responsible for tracking Russian assets. Another subject that will be less

controversial is the explicit ban on Nazi and racist symbols in Switzerland.
The National will also address the right of appeal of environmental

organisations and the programme for the 2023-2027 legislature.

HEALTH: The cross-party committee "No to the initiative for a cost brake"

is launching the campaign against the text tabled by the Centre on Monday.

The initiative aims to slow down the rise in health insurance costs and
premiums. The proposed mechanism is "absurd", say the SVP, FDP, SP

and the Greens, supported by the Swiss Nurses Association. Health

spending would be capped according to the economic situation. But this
cost brake does not take into account factors such as the ageing of the

               population and advances in medicine.

SWITZERLAND/UNITED STATES: Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin

begins his official visit to the United States. This mission is placed under
the sign of various themes related to the economy, science and aerospace

technologies. The programme includes talks with NASA and

representatives of Swiss companies operating in the USA.

PROCEEDINGS: The Court of Bellinzona will deliver its verdict against a

German theologian on Monday. The man, who teaches at the University of

Lugano, is accused of discrimination and incitement to hatred for having
authorised the publication of a homophobic article in a newspaper of which

               he is the editor.

USA: Donald Trump will become the first former president in U.S. history to

face criminal justice on Monday, with the opening of a trial in New York that
