Sometimes it is hard to write a review when something is just that good.
Often, after seeing a show or performance in Liverpool you could easily come
out and simply say "five stars, you shouldn't miss this".
And that is exactly the feeling I get every single time I visit the Philharmonic Hall
on Hope Street to see the world-renowned Royal Liverpool Philharmonic
Orchestra. This is the perfect place to rid yourself of any January blues you may
be feeling and escape the everyday.
With a beautifully romantic programme of Beethoven and Richard Strauss, I am
pretty sure I lost myself in the wonderfully deep sounds of the orchestra even
before we heard some of the most famous notes in history. Philharmonic chief
conductor Domingo Hindoyan opened the evening with Beethoven's powerful
Egmont Overture sweeping the audience off and away into a world of heroism
and duty.
