SCCTM Celebrating Excellence in
Mathematics Education in the Palmetto State
Join us in shining a spotlight on some exceptional educators who make up the vibrant tapestry of
the South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In our Member Spotlight series, we take a
closer look at dedicated individuals who are passionate about the art and science of teaching
mathematics. Our goal is to showcase their contributions, insights, and commitment to fostering a
love of math among students across the Palmetto State.
Ingrid Scott currently serves as Instructional Coach of Hardeeville Jr-Sr High
School in Jasper County, SC. Over the course of the week, Miss Scott provides
meaningful, engaging professional development for teachers, and she also
provides thorough feedback for teachers based on their lesson plans. As a
member of the school leadership team, Miss Scott often observes classrooms,
engaging in the teaching and learning with students and providing refinements
and reinforcements for teachers. When asked, Miss Scott assists in the
development of lessons and supports district math curriculum guide
development. Miss Scott, also, serves as a substitute math instructor from
time to time. Although her background is elementary and middle school math,
Miss Scott assists with supporting and teaching high school math, as well. It
goes without saying that Miss Scott is a jewel for her school community. She is
Ingrid Scott a true model and asset for her school and the JCSD system-at-large. Miss
Scott epitomizes the district's theme this year: "Excelling Beyond Barriers" as
this is the work she does and embraces, daily.
