FOReWORD
As the world grapples with an unprecedented pandemic which has
adversely impacted countries across the spectrum, the role and efforts of
Indian Public Sector enterprises (PSes) towards revival of the economy
have been an integral part of the nation’s recuperation and revival.
Arguably the biggest human crisis of our times, this pandemic too, calls
for solidarity. PSes with their immense national reach have been playing
an appreciable role in social well-being at this time of crisis.
As we face an unprecedented situation, PSes have led the charge in
uplifting societal well-being through their efforts. They have innovated
and through their efforts, have created impact by creating channels
for livelihood of contractual labourers, promoting social inclusion,
providing medical and social support to the most vulnerable sections
of society. Through various communication channels, they have created
awareness about the disease and dispelled myths, among masses and
their employees -- all in addition to their generous contribution to the
PM cAReS Fund.
I applaud the endeavours of PSes: we have really come together and
through our collective efforts, have contained the detrimental social
effect of the corona virus. At the same time, it is also equally important
to document the dedicated efforts of PSes and inform citizens about the
active role played by them as social partners in times of adversity.
Standing conference of Public enterprises (ScoPe) has, therefore, come
out with a compendium on “Building Self Reliant, Resurgent Resilient
India – PSes contribution amidst coVID-19” which exhibits the Indian
PSes’ diligent efforts and initiatives during this human crisis that we’re
battling.
I wish PSes all the best in their future endeavours and urge that
they continue to partner the Government in its holistic battle against
the pandemic.
