Although we felt sorry
                             For his dreadful fate.

We knew that we were safe,
                          And that felt really great.

                          The hen started clucking,
And the harp played a tune.

                              And to think we did
All this before it was noon.

                         The harp and hen thanked
Us for rescuing them that day.

But with the Giant dead, with
His wife they wished to stay.

We went back to the Giants house,
And gave back the harp and hen.

                        The Giants wife thanked us,
And forgave us for our sin.

She asked us to visit often,
She would always cook us food,

And we could listen to the harp,
If we were in the mood.

                          Each time we would visit,
She gave us an egg of gold.

We would take them to the store
In town, where they could be sold.
