Crazy 1894 Dated May 9,1894. Purchased from antique show or shop in Seattle area prior to 2003. 70"x71"
Fabric: Silk, wool, cotton, velveteen. Batting: None; pieced on cotton feed sack foundations. Backing: Green,
pink and black prints, feels like taffeta. Edge: Edged turned under, covered with irregular blanket stitch
in yarn. Piecing: Large blocks are joined by machine; individual patches appear machine stitched, too.
Quilting: Tied with heavy thread knotted on the back. Condition: Acceptable. About 15 silks have deterio-
rated, leaving voids. Comment: Voids do not detract from the appearance of the piece. They show feed sack
foundation with printed "choice" and "fancy." The piece is a library of embroidery stitches, fancy initials,
               stuffed cherries.

                                                                                  Figure 75: Crazy 1894
