Hexagons Pieced on Stiff Paper Fabrics date back to at least 1884. eBay purchase. 66"x81" Fabric: Silks basted
to stiff paper. Batting: None. Backing: None. Edge: Front turned under on two sides. Piecing: By hand.
Quilting: None. Condition: A handful of hexagons have detached from their neighbors. Three hexagons
are missing. A handful are frayed. The dark color has transferred onto its light neighbors in one motif.
Comment: This is a study piece, not a user. The silks include campaign ribbons from James G. Blaine and
John Logan from the 1884 U.S. Presidential campaign, and one brilliant blue Kansas City Royals baseball
team.
