Grandmother’s Flower Garden 1930s. Purchased at a Tacoma, WA antique mall in 1999. 71"x83" Fabric: Cotton.
Batting: Puffy and soft. A few fibers are bearding, making pills on the surface. Possibly wool. Backing:
White cotton. Edge: White tape machined to the front and caught by hand on the back. Piecing: By hand.
Quilting: By hand around the outside edge of motifs, about 5 stitches to the inch. Condition: Very good.
Colors are bright and unfaded. The orange border appears to be lightly soiled in one area, and that may be
coming from the batting.
