my mom had a
quilt like that
Log Cabin Cobwebs, in hexagonals or bullseyes No later than 1940s; the brown/orange color of the red could
date to the late 1800s. It is a scrap quilt from an age of sewing at home and having wool and cotton scraps.
Purchased in Renton, WA in 1988. 77"x92" Fabric: Cotton with some wool in the cobwebs. Batting: Cotton,
thin. Backing: Cotton floral on orange and brown stripe. Edge: Separate piece, straight grain hand stitched
to front and back. Piecing: By hand. Quilting: By hand. In radiating lines within cobwebs; square grid
outside of cobwebs; diagonal lines in borders; about 1" apart, 4 stitches per inch. Condition: Very good. One
brown ring in a cobweb is frayed. Very minimal moth bites. Comment: Very strong for its graphics.
