Amish Black and White Sun Rising Old order, small, thick, utilitarian. Probably prior to 1940s. eBay purchase
2016 from vendor New York Photographs. 64"x75" Fabric: Mixed cotton and wool. Batting: Thick. Backing:
Home-dyed cotton in faded violet. Edge: Home-made with irregular lengths of various fabric-red flannel
plaid, plain red, green cotton print, white cotton. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: By hand in black arcs 1"
apart, 4-6 stitches per inch. Condition: Good. One black piece is patched. There are some small moth holes
in black wools. Comment: I watched this quilt be listed various times on eBay for a couple of years and was
always attracted to it, so finally splurged.
