my mom had a
quilt like that
Pieced Letters. Old, Victorian age of abundant silks. eBay purchase, 2020. 70"x78" Fabric: Silk. Batting: Thin,
probably cotton. Backing: Cotton like a light twill. Edge: The back comes to the front and is top-stitched.
Piecing: By machine. Quilting: Tied with fragments of yellow ribbon bows edged with tiny loops on front,
white bows on back. Condition: Very good. There are two small shreds in the silk. Comment: Pieced letters
spell out "God bless our Home," "Love" and "Fidelity." Tiny letters in India ink appear in the "Love" patch
and say "Trust in God" and "L. Rose." The only quilts I’ve seen with pieced lettering, other than ABC quilts,
have been very pricy.
