Red and White Snakes Age unknown. The calico is ageless. The only clues that it’s antique are that I bought
it off an "antiques quilt" website; that it’s too narrow for a queen bed; and what modern quilter would
sell her work unsigned? eBay purchase 2012. 74"x91" Fabric: Cotton calico and percale. Batting: Medium
weight. Backing: Loosely woven cotton. Edge: White tape machined to the front and caught on the back
by hand. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: By hand, 8 stitches to the inch, in compass flowers enclosed in
two circles within each loop on the white field. Condition: Excellent. Comment: This is a companion for the
multi-colored snake quilt contained in this collection.
