Multicolor Snake 1950s. Purchased from antique mall or show prior to 2005. 67½"x71½" Fabric: Cotton.
Batting: Thin cotton that has wadded to small lumps. Backing: White cotton. Edge: Brought ¾" to the front
and caught by hand in tiny neat stitches. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: By machine in a large X in each
block and beside the seams joining blocks. Condition: Good physical condition and good distribution of
colors. Piecing is imprecise. Comment: This is a companion to a snake quilt in this collection that is only
two colors.
