Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) – Ontario Music Fund Review (2015)
TCI was retained to undertake a review of the first year of operations of the Ontario Music Fund, a music industry support program that funds qualifying Ontario musicians and music companies to the tune of $15 million per year. The review involved detailed interviews and a survey with recipients and non- recipients (i.e. declined applicants) for the Fund, as well as interviews and surveys with staff. A number of recommendations for fine-tuning the administration of the plan and improving reporting requirements were made and adopted.
County of Elgin Community Improvement Plan (2014)
Working closely with Meridian Planners Inc., TCI helped prepare a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for the County of Elgin. In this CIP, particular emphasis was placed upon innovative uses of this planning mechanism for development of the tourism resources of the County: the downtowns and hamlets; the Hwy. 3 corridor; the port communities, and the shoreline. The agricultural base of the County was also a prime focus of the plan.
Pickering Local History Collection and Archives Strategic Plan (2016)
This project involved the development of a strategic plan to accommodate the growing Pickering Library Local History Collection with the paper-based records of the Pickering Village Museum and the archival records of the municipality. Working with Reich+Petch, Architects, and well as Information Management Specialists, archives management, the study outlined the space requirements for the local history collection (including archives), examined alternative locations, and developed a plan that was accepted by all parties involved.
City of Niagara Falls Culture Plan (2014)
TCI Management Consultants was retained by the City of Niagara Falls to prepare a Culture Plan for the municipality. The development of the plan involved extensive public consultation with the general community and specific arts and culture groups; an inventory and assessment of all cultural facilities in the City; the development of a database and mapping of cultural organizations in the City; and a benchmarking and best practices assessment of comparable municipalities. The plan was adopted by the next incoming County after the municipal election of 2014.
