P. 10
Task 14: Determine the Strategy’s Operational Implications
Activities:
Determine the Strategy’s Operational Implications
• Review existing activities and potential new activities (including any new
programs and services that might be available to the arts and culture
community)
• Review partnership opportunities with community groups and organizations,
including staffing and budget implications
• Propose the Town’s annual arts and culture budget for each of the Strategy’s
five years
• Consider developing a ‘status quo’ and an ‘incremental’ budget scenario (i.e.,
how could the existing resource allocation be optimized to support the sector, vs. what could be done if the budget were to be increased by, for
example, 10%)
Deliverable: Operational Plan & Budget
Task 15:
Convene Steering Committee Meeting
Activities:
Convene a Steering Committee meeting to discuss implications of the Operational Plan and Budget
• Where necessary, revise the Operational Plan and Budget
Phase 3: Implementation & Next Steps
Task 16: Develop Implementation Plan
Activities:
Develop a detailed Implementation Plan, which will consider:
• Roles and responsibilities for each of the recommendations in the Plan.
• Timing and critical path activities (within the context of the five-year plan)
• Resource requirements (human and financial)
• Milestones, outcomes and targets
Deliverable: Implementation Plan
Task 17:
Create Draft Final Strategy
Activities:
Create Draft Final Strategy, collating and synthesizing the various outputs from the Plan with all findings, recommendations, and conclusions for the project
Task 18:
Convene Steering Committee Meeting
Activities:
Discuss the Draft Final Strategy.
• Agree on final revisions or modifications, as required
Task 19: Prepare Final Strategy
Activities:
Prepare the Final Strategy based on discussion and agreement from the Steering
Committee meeting
Deliverable: Final Arts & Culture Strategy
Task 20: Unveil Final Strategy
Activities:
Unveil Final Strategy to the community
• We propose two presentations: one to Mayor and Council, and a second to
the cultural community and the public. However, we would seek Steering
Committee input on the optimal means to unveil the Strategy.
• Note: An online presentation could be recorded and placed on the Town’s
website
