During the State of Area IV address, the National Area IV Director, Lady Crystal C. Pittman introduced a new
Area IV initiative that will support Elon Homes & Schools for Children in Charlotte, North Carolina. Area IV is
the first Area to start its on initiative.

The 35th Area IV Leadership Conference opened with a public meeting, which included remarks from the Atlanta
City Council President Ceasar C. Mitchell, Theia Washington Smith, founding executive director of the City of
Atlanta’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative and Shaneesa N. Ashford, Georgia Director of Zeta Phi Beta So-
rority, Inc. During the public meeting, Area IV recognized community partners including March of Dimes, Sickle
Cell Disease Foundation, National Council of Negro Women, The United Negro College Fund, Blessings in a
Backpack and Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry and Homeless.
