I am taking this opportunity to say “thank you” to the Area III Advisors for your ongoing support of my vision of working as a

Team during the past two and a half years. Some of you have been working with your chapter Top Teens and with me as the Lead
Advisor or Assistant Advisor for all of my term in office. I have said it each conference call and other occasions, but I want to

express my appreciation for your service again. Congratulations to all Teen participants and award winners!

203 Teens and 30 Advisors, plus presenters, attended the 42nd Area III Leadership Conference, at the Doubletree by Hilton, in Oak

Brook, Illinois. Lady Velda Hunter, National TTA Assistant Director and Teen Benjamin Chapman, National TTA President,

attended the leadership conference and was an active participant. The Area III TTA President, Teen Jasmine Thompson, presided
effectively at conference. It was the largest attendance of Teens in recent years.

Donations were made for the National Project, “Blessings in a Backpack,” by all 15 chapters. 9,039 food items were presented to
an agency that provides service to youth.

47,092 service points were provided by Top Teens in order to be eligible to attend the Area III Conference. Chapters were
recognized for their service, donations and participation.

Lady Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson, Past National Officer and recipient of the Humanitarian Award at the Public Meeting, donated
$7,000 to Area III Top Teens for Programs. She was the 7th Area III National Director and charter member of the Milwaukee
Chapter. Currently, she is the International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Top Teens were very involved in competitions during the Area III. Winners included the following.

2nd Place – Teen Cassidy Casanova, Evergreen Park Chicago Chapter

3rd Place – Teen Autumn McElroy, North Shore Chicago Chapter

1st Place – Jarred Jackson, North Shore Chicago Chapter

2nd Place – Teen Jalissa Sisson, East St. Louis Chapter

3rd Place – Teen Kyra Swins, West Suburban Chicago Chapter

Lady Edna Murray Scholarship Winners

1st Place – Teen Lyric Carter-Perry, Milwaukee Chapter

2nd Place – Teen Kennedy Arnold, South Suburban Chicago Chapter

3rd Place – Teen Teen Delonte Harrell, Skyline Metropolitan Chicago Chapter
