Joint Opening Session: On Friday morning April 13, 2018, Area II’s Joint Opening Session provided all attending chapters the
opportunity to introduce its members in a memorable fashion

                                                  	 		

Plenary Session #1: The opening ceremony was followed by Teen Aloana Hall calling the teens’ first plenary session to order. Mrs.
Rose Wessells, of Christiana Care Hospital, visited this session to receive the tie blankets that the Area II teens donated.

                                                		                                                                            	

Blue and Silver Luncheon: Dressed in Blue and Silver business attire, our teens proceeded to their Blue and Silver Luncheon.
The theme for the luncheon was ‘Mentoring to Inspire Greatness’. Teen Tyreik Shaw recited his written tribute, “The Art of
Being a Mentor”. The following three teens where recognized for their prepared essays about how their mentor impacted them.
Teen Paige Michals (Alexandria City chapter) earned 1st place in her written essay honoring Lady Inez Dubose. Teen Madison
Williams (Prince George’s County chapter) earned 2nd place in her recognition of Lady Pam Wright. Teen LaMaree James
(Southern Maryland chapter) earned 3rd place in her essay recognizing Lady Danyale Corradi. The mentors were escorted down a
blue runway and presented with medals, while certificates were given to their mentees.

                                              	 		
The importance of partnering with NAACP and NCNW was presented by Teens Mosies James and Jamie Davis. This moment
allowed all Top Teens that are members of these organizations to stand and be recognized by the luncheon guests. Attending
graduating seniors were recognized as their Advisors presented them with certificates and leis.
