Remembers…
Lord Moorehead began his professional career as an educator in his hometown of Wills Point actually
having the opportunity to teach his siblings. He taught Spanish in addition to other subjects. He loved
the students at Allen High School where he served as principal and eventually was appointed Interim
Superintendent of Laneville Independent School District. During his long illustrious career, Lord
Norman Moorehead worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Health Sciences Center at
Dallas and University of North Carolina. He hosted a radio show and made many television appear-
ances. He was a published author and had a regular column in the Texas Senior News.
In 1958, Lord Moorehead married Lady Nita Faye Brown. Lord Norman and Lady Nita have been
married sixty-one years. This union was blessed with two children, the Honorable Lady Audrey
Moorehead and Patrick Leon Moorehead (Katrina) both of Dallas. He leaves to cherish his memory,
his devoted and loving wife, Lady Nita Moorehead; daughters, Lady Audrey Moorehead, Tracey Carter
(Harlan) and; son, Patrick Moorehead. His legacy includes his three grandchildren: Xaviara Walker,
Xavier Walker, Maya Banks and one utterly adorable great-granddaughter, Tiyanah. He also leaves one
brother, Erskine Moorehead (Bobbie Lee) and one sister, Esther Gibson. He leaves many other rela-
tives and friends, including Goddaughter Anita Faye Faber; his Executive Assistant for thirty years,
Corina Castro; and his very special nurse, Ruthie Mae Simmons.
Lady Alice Claudette Henry Rector passed away on October 26, 2018. She was born
and raised in Georgetown, Texas to the late Edmonie and Lorene Henry; widow of the late First Ser-
geant John D. Rector; sister to the late Edith Miller and the late Carl F. Henry. She was a member of
Smith Chapel AME church. Lady Alice graduated from Carver High School
in Georgetown, Texas and was one of two African Americans to be accepted
and graduated from the First Vocational Nursing Class at M&S Hospital in
Georgetown, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a
Master of Arts in Health Education from Texas Women University in Den-
ton, Texas. She later became certified through the American Nurses Associ-
ation as a School Nurse Practitioner through the Texas Education Agency, as
a teacher and a supervisor. Lady Alice joined the Dallas Independent School
District Health Services staff , retiring after 35 years of service.
She was a life member and past president of the Trinity West Chapter of
Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD), a legacy life, life member, Bethune
Achiever and charter president of the Greater Trinity Section of the National Council of Negro Wom-
en, Inc. Lady Alice is survived by her three sons; Anthony of Georgetown, Texas; Darrell (Glenda) of
Canton, Georgia; Eric (Debra) of Lancaster, Texas; one sister, Jacqualin Martin of Georgetown, Texas;
sister-in-law, Doris of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; Janeka(Greg) of Seattle, Washington; Jason,
Christopher, Sedrick (Tiana), Robert and Dorian; four great grandchildren; Shaqueris, Little Sedrick,
Serenity and Nilah, one great grandson, Gabriel of Dallas, Texas and a host of loving relatives and
friends.
