Confluence

On Sunday September 9, 2018 the Confluence chapter of Top Teens of America participated in the South Cluster Walk to
Erase Sickle Cell Disease for Sickle Cell Month.  It was held at Miller Park in University City Missouri and local Councilman
Smotherson was on the program.  Teen Kristopher Walker was the MC for the afternoon where he introduced the various
speakers for the program prior to the walk and Ms. Rosemary Britts from the Sickle Cell Association gave information on living
with Sickle Cell Disease.  The teens helped set up, cook the hotdogs, serve the snacks, and helped with clean up.  They
participated in the actual walk and raised over $400 which will be donated to the Sickle Cell Association to help raise awareness
about Sickle Cell Disease and support families and individuals affected by this disease.
