Area IV TTA Service Project
The 34th Area IV conference supported as part of the TTA National Service Project, the Durham based Inter-
faith Food Shuttle program - BackPack Buddies. Each chapter to brought backpacks filled with nutritious, child-
friendly non-perishable items. BackPack Buddies provides children from food-insecure homes with healthy
weekend meals during the school year. The children, selected by school principals, guidance counselors, and
supervisors of various after school programs, receive a backpack containing six balanced meals and two healthy
snacks at the end of every week.
Area IV TLOD Service Project
Lady Sharon Elliott Bynum, was the Executive Director of Healing with
CAARE, Inc. and a member in the Durham Chapter. Lady Bynum passed
away on January 3, 2016. She left a behind a wonderful grassroots
organization whose mission is to provide access to
health and human services to at-risk and
marginalized individuals living in Durham, North
Carolina. As a part of the 34th Area IV Conference
service project, the Area IV Ladies provided
Healing with CAARE, Inc. with toiletries.
