Recap and Knowledge Assessment:
1
Begin by recapping students’ learning from the YourCrew
Classroom program. Display Slide 29 and have students
complete Worksheet: Learning Reflection Table either
as a class or individually, depending on the needs of
your students. This activity will help consolidate their
understanding of the key concepts covered. (20 mins)
2
Introducing Characters:
Display Slide 30 and introduce the two characters:
• Lisa: A 15-year-old student who has recently moved
state and started a new school. She’s struggling to
make friends, and her schoolwork is suffering. Her
stepdad works a lot but always ensures he’s home to
make and have dinner with her. She can tell that his
new job is stressful, but she doesn’t want him to
worry about her.
• AJ: A 17-year-old student who is 4 months into his first
part-time job. He’s worried about the upcoming HSC as
he hasn’t had much time to study recently. He doesn’t
get time to see his friends outside of school, and
his first serious relationship has just ended. AJ feels
stressed all the time and has trouble sleeping, instead,
he stays up late playing online video games.
3
Written Response Challenge:
Challenge students to create a written response
evaluating how the YourCrew app could impact Lisa
and AJ’s situations. Encourage them to consider the
possible outcomes for both characters if they use
the app versus if they do not, highlighting how the
YourCrew could support them in managing stress,
seeking help, and building resilience. (30 mins)
YourCrew Classroom: Teacher Guide
How your School can help
Engage students in an entrepreneurial challenge to further
their engagement. Encourage students to design, plan and
implement a school or community event that:
• Promotes the use of the YourCrew app among young people
• Raises funds for the Harrison Riedel Foundation
Some ideas:
Sports and Extracurricular Teams: Promote YourCrew
through school sports teams or other extracurricular activities
to raise awareness and encourage app use.
Community Participation: Organise or participate in a
community event, such as a fun run or walk, to raise funds for
HRF while promoting mental health awareness.
Creative Fundraising: Have students design, create, and sell
accessories that promote YourCrew, or themes like self-care,
connection, and community.
School Fundraisers: Host fundraising events such as a mufti
day, bake sale, or a student vs. teacher sports match, with
proceeds going to HRF.
