IT’S WELL DOCUMENTED THAT A DAILY PRACTICE
OF MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS CAN ENHANCE OR RESTORE ONE’S SENSE OF WELL-BEING.
Given the opportunity, our minds will naturally nd peace, compassion and wisdom. Living with these qualities present leads to a life where contentment and happiness can be with us every day. In our Western societies, due to the way we’ve all lived our lives and the mental habits we’ve developed, we no longer know how to nd this state. So ways of training the ‘heart-mind’ have come into being to help with this - meditation practices.
There are many meditation practices, some
come within a religious framework and some don’t. ‘Calm abiding’ meditation is a great way to start for those who want to try: it helps one to become more at peace and to stay in that state even after you’ve nished the practice. It can also help you see your life more clearly - and so give the opportunity to make changes and live life in a better way.
If you wish to try why not start right here in Antigua? Bodhicharya Caribbean is where this is taught, with meetings in Falmouth on Wednesday evenings and in the north of St. John’s on Saturday mornings. Everyone interested is welcome to join in for an introductory class.
