P. 4
1. The best situation is to match the size of the SimStep matt o the traffic level and
current cleaning cycle of the customer.
2. The SimStep product is much less expensive than the labor costs of cleaning mat
that is too small to accommodate traffic levels.
3. Once we know the cleaning cycle and traffic volume (personnel and carts) we
have very successfully designed the correct size polymer mat to ensure maximum
efficiency.
4. If the customer is using tacky mats the particle or microbial counts will be
substantially reduced.
5. The customer should always use their approved detergent or disinfectant in the
SimStep mats.
6. Contamination on the SimStep polymer mat is held on the surface of the mat. With
the application of a detergent/disinfectant with a “damp” mop and then using a
squeegee to dry, the mat will be cleaned and immediately ready for reuse.
7. Allowing the liquid to dry on the surface will create a film buildup, which limits the
mats effectiveness. Cleaning again and drying with a squeegee will remove this
film residue.
8. Like all floors, SimStep is slippery when wet. The squeegee dries the floor and
collects the small amount of liquid from the damp mopping.
9. Virtually all walk behind cleaning machines are acceptable for cleaning the
SimStep floor mats. We recommend the soft brushes/pads.
10. Never us aggressive bristle type brushes or dry buffing equipment as this could
abrade the surface.
