Tacky mats „CANNOT“ be used in conjunction with SimStep polymer mats.
The adhesive from the tack mats separates from the film (carry over) and is deposited on
the polymer mat, which makes cleaning difficult.
Heavy carts/fork trucks
SimStep mats can handle weights up to 567 kg. It is recommended that any motorized
pallet jacks or fork trucks move in a straight back and forth pattern – no stopping or
turning on the high tack polymer mat surface. Hand push carts can easily turn on the
polymer surface.
SimStep versus other polymer floor mats
Our staff had sold polymer floor mats for over 24 years. We offer a Full 3 year Warranty
and our mats have an average life cycle of 4 to 5 plus years. Independent tests have
proven the SimStep mat has extremely effective microbial and particulate retention
properties. We have improved installation methods and SimStep trained contractors,
whose work is also guaranteed under our warranty. Recent independent tests have
shown the SimStep mat as more effective in controlling microbial contamination than the
industry lead mat product.
Why not wall to wall?
The SimStep mat should be used in critical environment traffic areas. In an 8‘ hallway,
personnel do not walk along the edges of the hall. The SimStep floor mat is an active
working surface, which will hold particulate and look dirty until cleaned. A mat tells this
“story” whereas an entire hallway covered with the SimStep material will just look like a
dirty facility. By only quoting the traffic areas the cost is also kept to minimum.
We will of course do a room wall-to-wall if the customer insists.
Concerns about the product after installation
1. It gets too dirty. Therefore, we introduce the grey speckled flooring, which
somewhat masks the footprints on the mat.
2. The SimStep polymer floor is an active working material which may show traffic
patterns or slight scuffing after a period of time. This does not diminish in any way
the effectiveness of the mat.
