Our Carbon Footprint

We handled 100 000 PCs, laptops and servers in the 2021/2022 year and estimate that this number will increase by at least 5% per year
over the next 3 years. From ‘cradle to grave,’ the baseline carbon footprint of CO of manufacturing, processing and using these items
                                                                  2
           is 33 100 000 kgCO e. The carbon footprint of Xperien refurbishing is 350 000 kgCO e.

           Resources & Materials

Xperien is a driving force for SDG 12 implementation in corporate South Africa through our ITAD service. As production inputs, we use
both renewable and non-renewable resources. We prioritise the use of recyclable material components where possible.

In line with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliance, we do not process items containing lead (Pb), mercury (Hg),
cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and different
           phthalates (DEHP, BBP, BBP, DIBP).

As an IT refurbishment company, we work with the materials used to build computer components. These include plastic, ceramics,
glass and ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Apart from the harvested and newly manufactured components, we use several other processes that require resources such as
water, plastic, paper and alcohol. We manage consumables to ensure they are used effectively.

Each of our products and materials fulfil the safety and usability criteria set by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS). The
plastic, paper and cardboard that we use for packaging is recyclable and does not contain unrecyclable resins or heavy metals.
