SYSTEMS CHAMPION, GREAT COMMUNICATOR, BUSINESS ASSET SHARON HAY BERT BENNET PANEL CENTRE WA
Sharon Hay has a huge job at Bennet Panel Centre, a high volume repair facility where the timely delivery of parts to where they are needed and efficiency of the department as a whole is essential for the business’s success.
Her boss Bert Bennet says: “Sharon dem- onstrates keen initiative to ensure timely re- ceipt of parts, updating on the iBodyshop and 1Q1 systems and allocation to trolleys appropriate for vehicles working through the shop. She communicates well with the workshop manager and has implemented a system to flag any vehicles that may be due to arrive with parts issues, so that delays are addressed before problems arise. Sha- ron has implemented a multi-job trolley and associated checklist for vehicles not on site. She also ensures there is a weekly checklist
for panel and paint managers correspond- ing to numbered trolleys with vehicles com- plete with photos on vehicles, arrival and departure dates.
“Sharon has spent time offsite with the creators of 1Q1 exploring a variety of fea- tures within the 1Q1 system to streamline the management of parts.
“Sharon is a wonderful, organised and en- thusiastic member of our panel and paint team who brings a wealth of knowledge from prior experience in other industries. Sharon is very hands on and shows outstanding ini- tiative in liaison with a wide variety of suppli- ers from new to recycled to aftermarket. The parts area is kept extremely well-ordered, clean and tidy. Her friendly personality is a major asset to this business.”

FOCUSSED, KNOWLEDGEABLE, A CHAMPION. ABBIE FULMAR REPAIRHUB BANYO
Abbie Fulmar started out as a custom- er relationship officer in the RepairHub group. She is passionate about her role and working in the collision indus- try. So much so that when working at the weekends she became fascinated by estimating and showed an interest in learning more.
While there were no openings in es- timating at the time, there were in the parts department. She learned the ropes quickly and soon worked her way up into parts manager. Fulmar said that when she first entered the repair industry she had no idea that this was the path that she wanted to pursue. She says that she has an amazing team behind her who is very
supportive and allows her to learn and upskill. She is now concentrating on estimating and enjoys the complexity of it. What she loves about the indus- try is that there is always something new to learn, every day. “There’s no cap on learning”, she said.
Her nominator Veronica Jory, head of people and experience at Re- pairHub said: “She is focused, knowledgeable and a champion. She is one of the most impressive young ladies I’ve met - demonstrating that nothing is too hard if we put our mind to it.”
We’re sure we’ll see her popping up in the manager category in the not too distant future.
