LESS FIDDLY SALMON FOR CHEFS
Huon Salmon has launched a collection of products created by chefs for chefs.
The Chef Series range includes high-grade fresh Huon salmon fillets, hand-sliced cold smoked salmon, and ocean-grown salmon caviar.
Huon Aquaculture co-founder and executive director Frances Bender said the new range had been created with the needs of chefs in mind.
“Over the years, we have worked closely with a lot of chefs and have heard that they want the same Huon quality but in larger quantities and less fiddly packaging,” he said.
“This is how our new Chef Series range came to life.”
The new range will appeal to a broader range of chefs whilst reducing wastage.
SESSION BEER ENTERS THE MIDDLE LANE
Australian Beer Company (ABC) has launched a new mid-strength beer to complement its existing Yenda range.
At 3.5% ABV, Yenda Session is brewed longer for a fuller flavour – and is being launched nationally in 330ml bottles and on tap.
Mid-strengths are now the second-largest segment in beer, and the fastest-growing at 16 per cent year on year as more consumers shift to more sessionable beers, according to the company. Session is made with water from the Snowy Mountains and local barley from farmers in the NSW Riverina region, and contains no additives and preservatives.

The green-and-gold labelled beverage has been chosen as the official beer of the Wallabies.
The Chef Series range also includes Salmon Pâté and Salmon Caviar in larger one-kilogram options, along with hot and cold smoked salmon and fresh salmon portions, and Banquet sliced salmon, a product that is hand-sliced horizontally.
Huon produces approximately 24,000 tonnes of salmon annually.
DIAGEO ADDS TWO EXOTIC GINS
Diageo has added two new varieties to its Tanqueray gin range in Australia. The varieties, Flor de Sevilla and Rangpur, both include citrus flavours
from Seville and Bangladesh respectively, with each expression delivering its own flavour and character, according to the company.
Flor de Sevilla is crafted from Seville oranges, orange blossom, and other botanicals to create an amber liquid with notes of tangerine and coriander.
Named after a mandarin orange and citron-hybrid fruit which originated in India, Tanqueray Rangpur includes notes of lime, ginger and bay leaves.
Tanqueray’s London Dry Gin’s classic base of four botanicals (juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice) during distillation help create an easy- drinking gin with a citrus twist, according to marketing manager Jodi McLeod.
“Gin has become a really vibrant category, reflecting an increasing appetite for experimentation and flavour in spirits,” she says.
Both new varieties have an RRP of $65 for a 700ml bottle.
A SHAKE WITH 14 VITAMINS
A meal replacement shake with 14 organic vitamins and minerals has been launched for women on the go.
The Good Sort is a go-to meal or snack designed to fuel busy lives, according to the company.
Blended with the help of nutrition coach Lee Holmes, the meal is free from added sugar, fillers, artificial colours or flavours.
Available in both plant and dairy-based proteins, the formula is designed to give women a boost any time of day.
The Good Sort includes patented probiotics, prebiotic fibre, digestive enzymes, and MCT that target specific health benefits to balance the body, according to the company.
The Dairy Protein range comes in flavours of Chocolate, Vanilla, Coffee, Strawberry and Banana.
They also come in a perforated dual sachet for the option of a full meal or a half-serve. RRP is $5.49 per sachet.
