ENGINEERING
LIEUTENANT RACHEL SCOTT
OF RAN
Rachel joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Weapons Electrical Engineer Officer in 2011, while undertaking her engineering studies. Upon completing her training, Rachel specialised as a Reliability Engineer and has worked within
the Naval Technical Bureau as a Reliability expert since 2016. In this position, Rachel has provided specialist engineering advice to Defence projects, sustainment organisations and Defence industry to improve the Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability of maritime assets at a reduced life cycle cost.
CORINA GLAVAN
OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE
Corina had a distinguished career in engineering spanning over three decades and covering many engineering subjects, including petrochemical, explosives manufacturing, mechanical and risk engineering. She was appointed Research
Engineer and Lecturer at University of Adelaide, Senior Engineering Consultant at RMIT, Technisearch and ETRS, Principal Engineer at HRL, Senior Risk Engineer at ARUP and Senior MHF Engineer at Thales.
In her current role as Executive Director Engineering with the JLC Fuel Services Branch, Corina is responsible reducing risk at the Defence Fuel Installations and improving the safety of the infrastructure. She is also responsible for the fuel quality for Defence.
HEIDI STOREY
OF OCEAN SOFTWARE
Heidi is a global subject
matter expert on complex aviation operations, air traffic control and aviation safety best practice for leading Australian technology company, Ocean Software. She has had recent success in Defence projects
internationally as well as Australia.
Heidi was previously an officer with the RAAF for 11
years, where she was exposed to a wide variety of roles and responsibilities specialising in Air Traffic Control, safety and training.
VALSALA KURUSINGAL
OF THALES AUSTRALIA
Valsala is the Acoustics Engineering Manager at Thales Australia. She is the Design Authority and/or Transducer Expert for several Australian defence projects - AMI, Spherion, Djimindi and the re-developed sensor arrays for
the Collins Class submarines. She is also the Design Authority for French and Royal Navy Projects. Valsala and her team, in collaboration with Australian research institutions, have been developing next generation Piezo-electric materials for Naval applications.
MARY WILLIAMSON
OF DARONMONT TECHNOLOGIES
Mary has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours
and a Graduate Diploma of Management. Starting her career with the Australian Submarine Corporation, Mary went on to
work in the mining industry before returning to the Defence industry with Acacia Research and BAE Systems.
For the last 15 years Mary has been part of the Daronmont Technologies team. Mary has 4 children and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
LIEUTENANT NATALIE STAFFORD OF RAN
Natalie joined the RAN in 2000 as an Electronics Technician and served aboard HMAS Kanimbla, Darwin and Melbourne where she reached the rank of CPO after a rewarding career
as a sailor. In 2013, Natalie commissioned as a WEEO and
commenced her Bachelors of Electrical Engineering at ADFA. Since graduation Natalie has served in HMAS Stuart. Natalie is currently the Combat Assurance Engineer at the Anzac SPO.
