The railway boundary at this location is
limited, varying from 10 to 15m to suit bank
height and is essentially required to carry out
day to day track maintenance activities, repairs
to formation, inspection of bridges, repairs to
signalling and Power distribution installations
etc. Railway signalling cables are laid within
the available land from toe of bank to railway
boundary.
Now this section is nominated for increasing
the speed to 130 Kmph and Road vehicle
movement along the track within the railway
boundary is unsafe for train operations, hence
road vehicle movement along the track is to be
discontinued by local villagers.
The present kutcha road itself is an
encroachment/unauthorized passage within
railway boundary and this land essentially
required for track maintenance.
Keeping in view the present essential
requirement and to accommodate future third
line, it is not at all feasible to spare railway
land for laying the BT road at the above said
location.
