3. Provision of block station with standard layout at existing halt
station of Gandhipuram between Karepalli-Chimalpahad in
DKJ-MUGR section.
Present status The work is proposed in PWP 21-22 under umbrella
works at cost of Rs 26.66 Crores. PFA&CAO has returned the
proposal with remarks and the same are attended and sent for
further processing.
Benefit: The block section between Karepalli and Chimalpahad is
the longest block section with a length of 13.08 Kms. Time taken to
clear the block section 30 minutes for freight trains and 15 minutes
for coaching trains .Presently 7 pairs of coaching trains are dealt in
this section which consumes 3hours 30 minutes. In the remaining
time i.e 20 hours 30minutes there will only 41 paths available. To
deal 22 loaded rakes the present capacity of this section, these 41
paths or 20.5 paths each way is insufficient and will involve
detentions. An additional freight loading line between BDCR-
Sattupalli is expected to commission shortly. With this the section
capacity of 109%will increase, hence provision of crossing station
at Gandhipuram halt is required.
4. Freight examination facility at Dornakal Jn.
Present Status: ESP of DKJ is approved for provision of freight
examination line, extension of existing shunting neck to
accommodate full length freight train and provision of sick line
shed which are sanctioned in PWP under PH-4200 and work is in
progress. As part of 3 line works between KZJ-BZA, additional
rd
freight examination line of 800 meters, stabling line of 750 meters,
provision of shunting neck towards KZJ end and augmentation of
sick line shed. In addition to the above, extension of existing dead
end spurs of R-10&11 to full length is required for better utilisation of
these spurs.
5. Cherlapalli- Development of coaching terminal. (Construction)
Present status: ESP is approved. Detailed Estimate for an amount of
Rs.226.22 Crs sanctioned by Board on 4-12-18. Survey with S&T and
Electrical department completed. Bridges extension ÇP GADs are
under approval. Sub ways GADs are approved. Excavation for GL3
shifting completed. Tenders for civil works finalized. Tender for S&T is
to be called. Forest clearance is obtained for uprooting of trees.
6. Bhadradri Thermal Power Station (BTPS) siding - Manuguru:
Execution by RITES. The coal requirement of this plant of 1080 MW
capacity is 4.2 MTPA. The ESP is approved on 12.08.2020. For the
bridge & earth work LOA is issued and for RE work LOA to be
issued. Lead line: bridge work and earthwork in progress. In plant:
bridge work in progress 20% earth work completed .The siding work
to be commissioned at the earliest to move coal by rail and avoid
movement by road.
