Other embellishments that are also
noteworthy is the parapet, a low
protective wall along the edge of a
roof, bridge, or balcony , around the
roof which could be prominently
seen by passersby as pass near the
Red House.
The Second Red House also
included a Rotunda where both
North and South Blocks were North
and South Blocks were separated by
Prince Street previously. In the
middle of the Rotunda a fountain
was also installed. The Red House
was open to pedestrian traffic but it
was no longer open to vehicular
traffic.
At the end of construction, the Red House reopened in 1906 as the
seat of Parliament.
