Introduction
USE OF THIS GUIDE
▪ This document can be used as reference and field guidance to support
Annual Assessments of the Structural Integrity Management (SIM) -
former Level 1 inspections of DSCQP.
▪ The purpose is to provide a visual and schematic reference for
inspectors carrying out SIM Annual Assessments.
▪ Pictures provided are suggested examples, but the final rating of
findings must be done by using LH Risk Matrix.
▪ Specific sections cover inspections of Silos and Grating/Checker Plates
to address issues which have previously led to critical incidents or even
fatalities.
▪ Annual Assessments must be performed only by trained and authorized
inspectors.
