3. Imperative Sentences : Sentences that gives order or instructions, make requests or
offer and advice are called imperative sentences.
Examples : (i) Come here.
(ii) Don't make a noise.
(iii) Speak the truth.
An Imperative Sentence is followed by a full stop ( ). These sentences begin with a verb
.
and the subject 'you' is implied.
4. Exclamatory Sentences : Such sentences express sudden strong feeling like surprise,
delight, grief, joy, disgust, etc.
Examples : (i) What a fine book!
(ii) Bravo! Well done.
(iii) Alas! He is no more.
!
Exclamatory sentences end with an exclamation mark( ).
5. Optative Sentences : Such sentences express a wish as a prayer.
Examples : (i) May you live long!
(ii) God bless you!
