Read the table given on the previous page. Try to follow this pattern, when you
interchange the tenses.
What you need to remember :
1. Simple present tense is used to convey simple truth or permanent truth.
(i) Time waits for none.
(ii) The Earth revolves around the Sun.
To refer to a habit:
(i) He loves painting.
(ii) He gets up early.
2. Simple past tense is used to refer to an activity that has completed and has
no link with present.
(i) He went to Delhi yesterday.
(ii) I completed my homework two days back.
Habit in the past:
(i) I walked fast earlier.
(ii) He used to get up early but no longer now.
3. Simple future tense is used to tell, what we plan or what will happen in
future.
(i) I will go to Delhi tomorrow.
(ii) I will finish my homework first.
