6. The Verb
A verb is an action or a doing word. It tells us what a person, animal or
thing does. Every sentence must have a verb in it.
Read the words given below the pictures :
sleep eat climb cry
run cook shine drive
fly swim smile jump
All above words tell us what is happening. They tell us what the
people, animals or things are doing. They are called doing words.
Thus, the doing words that denote actions are called verbs .
