I know a few companies that are always there when a
house burns down to give the victims a free television or
a new refrigerator or a holiday or a computer—I shop at
these companies because I think the people running them
are generous people.

One point though—if you are going to be kind and
generous do it sincerely, not just as a marketing ploy. People
trust genuine people. If your customers are aware of your
contribution to the community it will only increase the
faith and trust they have when frequenting your business.
