do to remove the intimidation factor, from either use of the
practices and tools, or from being monitored.
Final Comments
We highly recommend that you take a balanced approach toward the selection of
project management software. Furthermore, to enhance success with these new
tools, we recommend that you adopt a formal, five-step process toward the imple-
mentation of your computer-based project management capability. Methods,
Tool Selection, Training, Implementation Planning, and Implementation Audit-
ing are all essential elements of the process.
The Gantt chart (Figure 1.4a) illustrates a typical PM Implementation Plan.
The timing is not as important as the phases and steps.
