Some General Principles Regarding
Managing Episodes of Dizziness
• Only your doctor can diagnosis your condition.
You should continue to work with your doctor to
determine the true cause and best treatment for
your condition.
• Anything that puts your body in a state of more stress
can increase your dizziness/balance problem and
make it harder to manage.
• It is common to feel more tired when you are experi-
encing a problem with dizziness. Make sure you are
well rested. Break larger tasks up to avoid overdoing
activity. Get ample sleep.
• Work on controlling stress in your life.

• Eat a healthy diet. Follow any dietary precautions
as given by your doctor.
• Be aware that you may feel more “off” if you come
down with a cold or other illness.
• Choose activities wisely. Avoid heights and if you are
having problems with dizziness and/or balance.
• If you are concerned about your medications,
go over all your medications with your doctor.
DO NOT change medications on your own!
