ACCEPTABLE PRAYER
Heb. 10:22
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts
sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies with pure water.
For there to be fulfilment in prayer and for us to utter prayers that are acceptable
before God our method of approach must be different from that of the world. The
one who stands before the throne of God above must draw near to Him in reverence.
He must draw near to Him in humility and godly fear as his child fully knowing
how insignificant and unworthy he is. The Good Lord wishes for all his people to
draw near to Him as grateful sinners.
We approach the heavenly Father as grateful sinners who in earnest do not waste
time asking from God through submission to His Divine Will. When we take time
out to pray and seek the face of God our prayers should be laced with lots of faith.
We have faith in the fact that God hears those who earnestly seek Him in prayer and
He hears the cry of our hearts and the longing of our conscience and when we ask
Him for help in time of need God is ready willing and able to grant us our petition.
In short acceptable prayer is one that is founded on the promises of God that He
hears us when we pray and He fulfils He watches over His own Word to perform it.
1. Ask And You Shall Receive.
Matt. 7:7-8
Ask and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be
opened unto you.
For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth; and him that
knocketh it shall be opened.
Matt. 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, and ye shall receive.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believing
that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
