P. 5

3. There is mention of spreading out hands in prayer:-

               1 Ki. 8:22, 38, 54

Then Solomon stood before the alter of the Lord in the presence of all the
assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven.

Whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all your people
Israel, when each one knows the plaque of his own heart, and spreads out his
               hands towards this temple.

And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and
supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the alter of the Lord, from
kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

               Ps. 28:2

Hear the voice of my supplication when I cry to you, when I lift my hands toward
               your holy sanctuary.

               Ps. 63:4

Thus I will bless your name while I live; I will lift up my hands, in your name.

               Ps. 88:9

My eye wastes away because of affliction Lord, I have called daily upon You; I
have stretched out my hands to You.

               1 Tim. 2:8

I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger and

               disputing.

                   4. There is mention of standing up while praying:-

               1 Sam. 1:26

Sir, do you remember me? Hannah asked him. I am the woman who stood here
that time praying to the Lord!
