The Heartwarming Story of Ukasyah bin Mihshan, Demanding Retribution from the
Prophet SAW but Obtaining the Guarantee of Heaven
Rasulullah SAW is a prophet of the end of time
who has been promised heaven by Allah SWT.
However, the Prophet SAW did not want to leave
mistakes to fellow human beings, especially his
people before returning to Him.
Before his death, the Prophet SAW asked
Bilal bin Rabah gather the Muslims in the mosque.
At the behest of Rasulullah SAW, the Muslims in
Medina flocked to the Prophet's Mosque.
Rasulullah SAW then went up to the pulpit and
preached in front of the Muslims.
Heart flutters touched until tears came out of the Muslims when Rasulullah SAW spoke.
"O Muslims. For God's sake and for my rights over you. Whoever I have wronged
without my knowledge, stand up and respond to my wrong doing," said the Messenger
Not one among the Muslims stood up. The Messenger repeated his speech three
times.
"O Muslims. For God's sake and for my rights over you. Whoever I have wronged
without my knowledge, stand up and answer my injustice, before I am answered on the Day
of Resurrection," said the Messenger again.
After the Prophet SAW repeated 3 times, then a grandfather appeared standing. The
grandfather named Ukasyah bin Mihshan walked until he met the Prophet SAW.
"For my father and mother. If you don't say that sentence three times, I will definitely
not advance," said Ukasyah.
Ukasyah admitted that he was one of those whom the Prophet SAW said. Ukasyah's
stomach was whipped by Rasulullah SAW. The incident happened after winning the war when
Ukasyah got off the camel and approached the Prophet SAW to kiss his thigh.
"I don't know if you did it on purpose or if you wanted to speed up the camel," he
said.
At that moment, Rasulullah SAW asked Allah SWT for protection for what he did to
Ukasyah. Then asked Bilal to Fatimah's house to pick up the whip that was hanging.
Bilal carried out the order of the Prophet SAW. He went to meet Fatimah. "O daughter
of the Messenger of Allah. Pick up that dangling sprint. Leave it to me," asked Bilal to
Fatimah.
A little confused by Bilal's request. Then, the daughter of the Prophet SAW asked,
"O Bilal, what will my father do with this whip?" Isn't today a Hajj day, not a war day."
Then Bilal explained to Fatimah that his father would leave the world. He gives an
opportunity to anyone to repay mistakes during his life.
"O Bilal, who dares to demand revenge (qisas) from the Messenger of Allah? Tell
Hasan and Husein so that they are the only ones to receive the retribution, as the successors
of the Messenger of Allah," said Fatimah.
The daughter of the Prophet SAW did not want her father to be judged. He asked that
Hasan and Hussein be the substitutes for the Prophet SAW.
Fatimah then handed over the sprint to Bilal. Then Bilal returned to the mosque and
handed the whip to Ukasyah.
The companions of Abu Bakar, Umar, Ali, even the grandson of the Prophet SAW
Hasan and Hussein took turns standing and asking Ukasyah not to speed the Prophet SAW.
Their bodies are ready to be a substitute for the Qisas of the Prophet SAW.
