Using Simple Present Tense
Procedure texts should be written using the Simple Present
Tense because they contain imperative sentences about
how to make or do something.
Using Imperative Sentences
Imperative sentences, also known as command sentences,
are sentences that give instructions, make requests, or give
orders. They are commonly used in procedure texts to
provide step-by-step instructions on how to perform a
specific task or activity. In imperative sentences, the verb
(action verb) is usually in its base form (infinitive) and
does not require a subject at the beginning of the sentence.
