L E S S O N ACTI ON VERB
2
Action verbs or dynamic verbs are verbs to show that the
subject is performing an action or to show that something
is happening. Verbs that are classified as action verbs
include those that express activity, process, and
momentary action. Action verbs have progressive or
continuous forms, and of course simple and perfect forms.
Identifying action verbs in a sentence can be done by
following these steps:
1. Look for the subject of the sentence.
2. Look for the verb in the sentence.
3. Ask yourself if the verb shows something someone can do,
be, or feel.
4. If the verb shows something someone can do, then it is an
action verb.
