The generic structure of a narrative text typically includes the following
components:
1. Orientation/Introduction: This is the opening section of the narrative text
where the setting, characters, and background information are introduced.
It provides the reader with essential details to understand the context of
the story.
2. Complication/Rising Action: In this section, the story progresses and the
conflict or problem is introduced. The complication creates tension and
builds up the plot, driving the story forward.
3. Resolution/Climax: The climax is the turning point or the most intense
moment in the story where the conflict reaches its peak. It is the critical
event or decision that leads to the resolution of the problem.
4. Conclusion/Falling Action: After the climax, the story begins to wind down.
The falling action includes the events that follow the climax and lead to the
resolution. Loose ends are tied up, and the story starts to come to a close.
5. Coda/Conclusion: The conclusion wraps up the narrative and provides a
sense of closure. It may include a reflection, moral lesson, or a final
statement that leaves an impact on the reader.
