Further Afield
The area surrounding Selsey is home to numerous attractions.
Within the Peninsula we have Bracklesham Bay and East
Wittering known for their surfing beaches and fresh local fish.
West Wittering beach is part of a private estate. Parking here
is not cheap, but it does give access to some wonderful walks,
beaches and a cafe. This area is very crowded in summer.
Chichester harbour is the local home of yachting and offers
boat trips and many other activities, It is surrounded by
interesting villages such as Bosham, Emsworth and
Fishbourne with its Roman Palace.
The City of Chichester has good shopping, the Cathedral with
its wonderful gardens and some attractive walks around the
walls.
Further afield still are the South Downs with attractions such
as Amberley Museum and the Weald and Downland Museum.
There are many walks, gardens and castles.
Arundel and the River Arun is well worth a visit as are the seaside resorts nearby such as Littlehampton. In
the other direction, Porstsmout has attractions such as the Mary rose and the Spinnaker Tower.
